Water Simulation

A fluid simulation for Êxito, a Brazilian firefighting-equipment manufacturer with thirty years behind it. The piece shows how water behaves inside the tank of a mobile unit, which is an engineering argument that a static drawing cannot sell.

The water is not hand-animated: it is a fluid simulation solved frame by frame, with the tank cut away and transparent so the interior is visible. The colour is not decoration, it is data: it maps the speed of the liquid, from blue at rest to red moving fast. Both tanks run side by side in the same simulation. On the right, with no baffles, the whole mass of water shifts together and slams the wall. On the left the movement dies inside each compartment. The client sells that baffle, and simulation is the only way to show what it does.
