3D animation services, from the brief to the final file

This page is about the service, not the studio. It sets out what GGfx 3D animation services include, how a job moves from the first brief to the final file, what we need from you to start, and what lands in your folder at the end. If what you want is to see finished work, the portfolio sits on the <a href="/en/3d-animation/">3D animation page</a>.

3D animation services

What 3D animation services include here

  • The read before the build. The brief becomes a shot list before anything is modelled: which shots exist, what has to be built for the first time, and what can be reused. Most of the budget is decided here, not at render time.
  • Look approval before animation starts. Reference, script and finish are approved while changing them is still cheap. The same change after animation has begun costs more than it did a week earlier.
  • Build, animate, render. Modelling, materials, light, animation and rendering run in one Blender pipeline, on our own render farm. Render time is not rented and does not sit in another studio's queue.
  • Two or three versions to react to. Where the choice matters you get more than one route, rather than a single take-it-or-leave-it option.
  • Every format the piece has to run in. Vertical, square and horizontal, short cuts pulled from a long one, and more than one language when the project calls for it.

How 3D animation services run, stage by stage

  • 1. Brief. Before anything is produced, the format, the technical specification and the date are confirmed in writing. A question asked here costs minutes. A question skipped here costs a redo.
  • 2. Work order. A scoped, priced document stating what will be made, for how much, by when, how many revision rounds are included and what counts as done. Nothing starts before it is signed.
  • 3. Production. The work gets made, decisions written down along the way, and reviewed on our side before you see anything.
  • 4. Review. Finals and variations go to you together. Changes happen inside the rounds the work order names. A round beyond that is quoted separately. [CONFIRMAR: número padrão de rodadas incluídas]
  • 5. Delivery. The approved final lands in one clean folder of its own. Nothing half-done goes in there.
  • 6. Close. Access that is no longer needed is revoked and payment is settled. A job is not closed until it is delivered, filed and paid.

What we need from you before the first frame

  • The specification, in writing. Resolution, frame rate and colour space. If you do not know them, whoever runs your channel or your edit does.
  • Whatever already exists. Footage, product photography, a 3D model from the manufacturer, the brand guide, a script. Each one removes a stage that would otherwise be built from zero.
  • One reference. A single link to something that looks like what you want, even from another industry. It settles arguments that adjectives cannot.
  • Your approvals, in order. Who has to see the script, who has to see the look, and when those people are available. Approval that arrives after animation has started is the expensive kind.
  • The date it has to be live. A short deadline does not change the work. It changes how many people run in parallel and how much render sits waiting.

What you receive at the end

Every job in our 3D animation services delivers video as ProRes 422 HQ, the high quality file kept for editing and archive, plus an H.264 MP4 for the web. Stills come flattened as PNG or TIFF, with a JPEG for preview. Audio masters are 48 kHz, 24 bit WAV. Resolution, frame rate and colour space were fixed at the brief, not guessed at the end.

The number of formats is scope, not a favour asked afterwards. The two films for the Curitiba Development Agency add up to around three minutes of finished animation, delivered as a convention format plus five variations for social. The Bolt fleet livery VFX job went out as one ninety second film and three thirty second cuts.

Lead time is set per project and written into the work order. Standard lead time for one finished minute: [CONFIRMAR]. What moves it is the technical approach rather than the running time, laid out on the page about what a video costs.

Who keeps the files

You receive the finished deliverable. On a 3D animation services job GGfx keeps the source: the 3D scenes, the render setups, the layered files and, on AI generated material, the prompts that produced each piece. The prompt is part of the asset: it is what lets us regenerate, adjust and prove how an image was made.

If you want the source files, that is fine. It is a separate line in the work order, agreed before the work starts, not negotiated after delivery. It has gone out that way before: a fifteen second catwalk animation delivered as .blend and .fbx alongside the finished video, for an Upwork client, between 2022 and 2023.

This is the part almost nobody agrees up front and almost everybody discovers late, so it goes in writing at the start. If your own team will reuse the material later, say so on day one. It changes what we hand over and how the scene is built.
